Whew! Time Flies!

Whew! Time Flies!

Wow! 2017 flew by! Although 2017 seemed to go by in an instant, it was memorable for several reasons. Firstly, we had a baby! We will never forget this experience. It was filled with extremes.Intense joy that we had a baby mixed with fear due to Cait's medical complications. As a family, it was one of the hardest experiences we have gone through, but also one of the most valuable.

Secondly, we became debt free! This was possible due to over the top budgeting and a larger than expected tax return. No student loans. No car payment. No cell phone payments. (We consider our house an investment, not a debt.) Thirdly, Josh started seminary! A little background on us... we used to photograph weddings professionally, and had years of gear that we no longer needed. To pay for Josh's first semester, we sold 95% of our cameras, lenses and other items. It's a little nerve racking, but it feels good to be "all-in" for seminary. No more weddings for us. Fourthly, our Lead Pastor and his wife announced that he will be returning to the missions field. We are so very thankful for all John and Karen have done for us and they will be missed! Feel free to support them here.

We have a feeling that 2018 will also fly by.

Cait is digging into life as a working mom. Josh has been asked to serve at church clerk and lead worship once per month, in addition to his regular Office Admin duties. Josh also starts the Spring Semester at Bethel. Just one class for now. New Testament Survey here we come!

In 2018, we plan to blog more and hopefully this blog post breaks the ice. Cait loves putting her thoughts down, and Josh is excited to re-work some seminary assignments into blog posts.

The featured photograph is from our impromptu christmas card photo shoot. It sums of 2017 well. Haha. And because we love photography still, here are some photos from 2017.
